Odysseus is trapped on an island with a love sick goddess. 

Meanwhile, unscrupulous suitors harass his wife Penelope and bully his son Telemachus.

Telemachus has grown up without a father. He feels powerless to do anything about his situation.

What is the goddess Athena's answer to Telemachus' plight?

It's finally here: My final essay on the Iliad.

It's 9600 words, so you might have to read it in multiple sittings.

It contains a full summary of the Iliad and my final impressions.

How does revenge avenge affect a person and those around them? 

What does the Iliad say about war? 

What's with the behavior of the gods and the role of fate?

There are also brief profiles of the major characters in the Iliad and what we can learn from them.
