Page 167 - Inks + Roughs & Figure Study

This page is pretty spoiler-safe since it's really hard to tell what's going on without dialog or context from the before/after pages. Thought it'd be a good one to share a little more progress and process from.

You can see some alternate compositions in the rough versions of the page. Initially it would have all the villains in that one horizontal panel, but that would have taken too long AND I like the closeup on Shar's eyes instead. What could she be thinking, I wonder?

Removed that closeup on Wyit's marked hand, since it ended up being too redundant. Felt better when I let the full-body shot have some atmosphere space.

Hey everyone! Here's the new header/title illustration I'm working on for the book's website. It's an update of this early concept image which I really needed to fix ahead of the book's launch.

I'd say this image is about 90% done, still need to add some more weathering/particle effects, and I might change up the scale and placement of the stone ruin behind Wyit and Rek. Going to let it sit for a few nights while I do some Independence Day holiday activities and work on comic pages, then come back with fresh eyes to finish it up and share here with layered files and sketch versions.
