So give me money if you hate robots :^) I started reading Richard Hanania’sKakistocracy on my parents’ porch a month ago, watching my son play with his friend in the backyard blowup pool. I had a few free hours and figured I’d knock out a couple of chapters on the sofa.
My dad and I cannot be in the same place without talking about politics. We’ve been trying to do it less lately, because we disagree too much and both enjoy fighting far too much to stop once we’ve started. But it’s the thing we did together when I was growing up, and it’s the thing we always come back to.
He thinks I’ve become infinitely jaded. He has maintained loyal MAGA support through thick and thin. So I figured, if anyone could get a bit of skepticism into him, maybe it could be Hanania. It certainly wasn’t going to be me. I’m his daughter. Far too close to home.
