So our next discussion should be sometime the week of the 27th. If everything works out, it should be the old trio: me, Nate, and Chris. In a change of pace, we’ll be talking about a short story rather than a poem. The story is One Bright Star to Guide Them by John C. Wright.

If you’d like to read it ahead of time, it is available here for $3: https://www.amazon.com/One-Bright-Star-Guide-Them-ebook/dp/B00N9760GO/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=one+bright+star+to+guide+them&qid=1557882241&s=gateway&sprefix=One+bright+star+to+guide+them&sr=8-1

I’ll post more details as soon as our schedule is clearer.

So good news, everybody. The poetry talks should be back online shortly. Our schedule may still be a little spotty, but at the moment, we're currently planning on a talk this Sunday with author Ben Zwycky (pronounced Zvit-ski) on Rudyard Kipling's poem "The City of Brass". Sometime in the next week or so, we should also have a talk including Jeffro Johnson (author of Appendix N about the s.f./fantasy background to classic D & D.) concerning H.P. Lovecraft's "The Ancient Track".

I just recorded my new appeal video last night. I need to edit it a bit, but it should go up Monday. Hopefully, it will persuade more people to subscribe to the channel. If not that, however, at least I think it should make a few people laugh, which isn't a bad thing in and of itself.

Let me know what you think when you see it, and feel free to spread it around yourselves.

So I'm recovered a bit from the cold which put me down last week and delayed this week's video. I've also, due to things I've recently learned about, changed the topic for this week's video. I'll be recording it tomorrow night, probably.

I'll also be recording the subscribers' monthly news roundup "Cold Takes" fairly soon. I don't know what I'll talk about, though. It doesn't seem like much interesting happened this month.

If you have any questions for me to address in the Cold Takes Q&A, post them here, please.

Coming up next week is the poem "Tailgunner Joe" by Tom Riley and a discussion of said poem including Nate and special guest, author Brian Niemeier https://www.brianniemeier.com/ .

This Friday I plan on live-streaming our discussion with Rachel Fulton Brown at 9:30 Eastern Time. If you’re interested in joining us, the link is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvmT9n3MTQ8

Of course, if you can’t make that time, the video will remain up afterwards. See you then, and I look forward to your comments.

Just a meme I made for my own amusement. No particular political implications.

  • Subscribers will have access to a monthly news round-up, discussing recent events along with a Q & A. They will also be able to request poems or reaction videos. I can't promise I will do those, but they will certainly be considered. Subscribers will also be able, if they wish, to participate in at least one of the ongoing poetry discussion series (and may be invited back for more).
