Happy Independence Day everyone!
That is what we celebrate here in the U.S. on the 4th of July.
The picture is my new studio setup and our new "Studio B".
No live stream or hangout on July 3rd. I have a performance at 9 AM in the morning so I will be prepping for that from the time that I wake up (probably around 5 AM) until then.
We'll have a live stream on July 5th (observed Independence Day in the U.S.), at 9 AM MDT (UTC -6) and then a hangout right after. I'll make another post to give you the details on that.
There has been a time or two when I've had only one person show up at the hangout. We can have a lesson or work on whatever music you want to if that happens. It's up to you.
That is my plan for the next couple of days. Right now I'm going to get back to making a guitar lesson video. See you soon!

How to use "tags" to search posts here on SubScribestar.
Hello everyone!
Frank just joined up a few days ago and asked this question.
"Hi Hal, I just joined your site and I'm wondering if there is anyway to search the posts. thanks!"

Answer: at the bottom of every post there is a place that I can add tags. I'll put a 4 here for you to see what I'm talking about.

I'll put "Messages" "Book" and "Beatles" and "ClassicRock" just for examples.

On a computer, take your mouse and hover over the tag/subject you want to search.
Right click on it.
(
The picture shows you what this looks like.)

Choose the option you want
  1. new tab
  2. new window
  3. incognito window

Now you can see the posts that I've made with these tags.

Confession:
I didn't know how this worked until this morning so all my posts don't have the appropriate tags but I will go back and update my tags. Also, new posts will have tags to help you out.

One more thing. I'm not sure how to search for a topic here without clicking on a tag. Some of you tech savvy people out there help us out. If you find a way to do it email me at [email protected] and let me know and I will make another post on this subject.

Thank you for all of your support!
Hal

Tales of My Guitars - Ibanez GSR 190 Bass
This bass was given to me when I worked at SunHawk Academy teaching music to recovering drug addicts. Someone had left it there and the owner was unknown at that point. I acquired the bass around 2011.
  • It now has a bone nut. That is the only piece of equipment that is not original.
  • The frets were checked out to make sure they were all seated properly, leveled and polished.
  • The guitar went through a thorough set up to set string height, neck relief, etc.
  • It has flat wound strings and is intonated properly. Very important for any guitar!
  • The pickups and all electronics are original.
  • The neck is thin and fits the hand perfectly.
It plays like a dream. For an inexpensive bass it is killer!
Check out the next video that I did about learning the notes on the fretboard by playing bass or at least bass lines on the guitar.
