Concert Pianist Tony Lee

Second interview with Australian born Chinese pianist Tony Lee broadcast just before lockdown 29 February 2020 on Fine Music 102.5FM Sydney Australia. Tony speaks about forever looking for new depth to music and how to connect to a commissioned work. This recording was part of a musical showcase, so a more relaxed interview compared to the previous breakfast interview we did.

José talks about playing the ultimate baddie role in opera - Scarpia from Puccini’s Tosca and collaborating with guitarists on his latest album.  Listen to how we build the story around the purpose of the concert, then help the audience picture the benefits of visiting a venue way out of the city.

Dancer Choreographer Amelia Drummond

Australian Dancer and choreographer Amelia Drummond interview broadcast 30 September 2019 on Fine Music 102.5FM Sydney Australia. Amelia talks about travelling to Mannheim, Germany for her advanced ballet training, working with the Australian Ballet and winning the inaugural Emerging Female Classical Choreographer in Residence at the Sydney Opera House.   I loved hearing about her challenges of working in a new country at the age of 16 plus the limitations on females in dancing and choreography. Such a brave woman.

Pianist Ming Xie

Radio interview with American-Chinese pianist Ming Xie talking about his career, learning at Julliard School in New York and travelling the world. I found him to be incredibly humble and focussed when I talked to him. A perfectionist and very clear in what he wanted to express despite the language barrier. As we played the first work of his performing, he was still critiquing himself and the fingers were moving. :-)
