King #Goodwill #Zwelithini, traditional leader of the Zulu #nation in South #Africa has died from complications related to diabetes at age 72 after serving as the longest reigning Zulu monarch in history.
Zwelithini, the eighth Zulu king, served as monarch for over five decades.
As head of the #Ingonyama Trust, he oversaw 2.8 million hectares of #KwaZulu Natal, or nearly 30 percent of the total land. The trust was created late in the Apartheid era and is a source of controversy as the #ANC seeks to expropriate land.

Speaking at mini-plenary session at the National Assembly, South Africa's Minster of Public Enterprises (a position only a socialist nation would create) Pravin Gordhan told members of parliament that the failed, bankrupt, corrupt patronage machine Eskom is and always shall remain a parastatal.

Behaving as if he has absolutely no clue about the economic harm and misery ANC mismanagement of Eskom has done to citizens and the economy, Gordhan has doubled down on state ownership. He did offer a window of hope for the private sector, but the reality is that so long as Pretoria insists on owning the means of production, Eskom will continue to shave points off of economic growth and fail South Africans.

Tender your long overdue resignation Mr. Gordhan!

Just over a year into the thankless task of reforming the corrupt, inept patronage machine that is the national monopoly electricity provider Eskom, Andre de Ruyter has come under attack by suspended Eskom chief procurement officer Solly Tshitangano who accused him of "racism" in "favoring white suppliers over black suppliers."

Two large labor unions (NUMSA & NUM) have called the announced Eskom probe insufficient and a coverup, laying unsubstantiated allegations about terminated black engineers and attributing purported wage rate disparities to racism.

Frankly, the endless resort to the race game is beyond outdated. Unfortunately, in South Africa, Western Europe and North America, far to many people incapable to critical thinking all too easily fall for the game. Best of luck to Mr. de Ruyter and Eskom in dealing with the racist inspired slander of his behavior and character.

"A 33-year-old suspect has been convicted and sentenced in South Africa for the murders of popular KwaZulu-Natal couple, Glen and Vida Rafferty, who will killed at their Normandien Farm on 30 August 2020.

KZN’s Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Thulani Gonya, welcomed the sentencing of Sizwe Tell Zwane Schaba (33). “We wish to commend the investigating officers who have been painstakingly investigating this case since August last year. They have continued to persevere and remain committed to ensuring that all the perpetrators are eventually behind bars,” he said.

Zwane, who was arrested by detectives from the Provincial Organised Crime Unit on 14 February 2021, was the third person arrested in connection with the farm murders.

On Wednesday he pleaded guilty at the Pietermaritzburg High Court and was convicted accordingly. Zwane was sentenced to ten years imprisonment on one count of robbery, and to 25 years imprisonment each for both counts of murder. He will serve his sentence concurrently. His two co-accused, who were arrested on 15 October 2020, remain in custody as their trial is still pending. Detectives have not ruled out the possibility of more arrests."

The first African-American female pilot and first of native American descent female pilot as well, Bessie Coleman was a true pioneer of aviation.

Determined to go to flight school, she learned French so that she could get her pilot's license after no schools in America would accept her as a student. A true barnstormer, Bessie inspired many folks with her grit and determination. Where others saw barriers and excuses, she saw goals and leadership, setting the path for others to follow.

Her amazing and impactful aviation career was tragically cut short when she fell from an aircraft in 1926 to her untimely and premature death.

On 03 Mar 2021 Elon Musk's SpaceX took another step in its efforts to send humans back to the moon and onward to Mars with the successful launch and landing of SN10, albeit, a slightly off the mark and not quite erect landing, but a landing nonetheless.

About eight minutes later while resting on the pad, SN10 blew up in a rather spectacular "kaboom" that hoisted the entire craft hundreds of feet in the air. Regardless of the explosion, the mission was arousing success and will do much to help us get back into manned space exploration.
