In order to stay compliant with our strategic credit card processing partners' policies and due to recently tightened regulations on the cryptocurrency circulation for the US-based companies, we are going to halt all support for cryptocurrency payments on this site for the time being.
For all our content creators who are willing to continue accepting payments in cryptocurrencies, we strongly encourage to share your personal crypto wallet address/number on your profile page for all subscribed to see. You also can publish your wallet address on Public Post so anybody can see, not only your subscribers. This way you will retain your crypto donation option without getting into a risk of going over the thin red line.
Considering the extremely low volume of processed payments via cryptocurrencies, we believe this move will not affect our community that much but will make our and your business safer and more bulletproof.

In accordance with the law, SubscribeStar will charge VAT at the standard rate on the services provided to you, effective on your next billing cycle.
VAT will be charged in addition to the advertised subscription rates and will be paid to the appropriate Federal Tax Authority of your country in compliance with the VAT legislation.
The exact amount of VAT charged is going to be clearly stated on a receipt that you will be getting upon every charge.
To our Stars: no actions required on your side - we will collect and pay VAT associated with your profile to the appropriate Federal Tax Authority of related country.
As you might have noticed, we have removed our site-wide message, which means we are more or less back on track with our normal operations. The exceptions are our large profiles with hundreds and thousands of subscribers - they are still waiting to be taken care of.
With that being said, we are still in a process of establishing a robust multilayered payment framework that depends on multiple third parties, instead of just one or two. This aforementioned framework relies on some technical and legal procedures that are somewhat lengthy and are still underway.
During the past week, we have re-enabled dozens of existing small and medium-sized profiles, reviewed and accepted hundreds of new profiles. The absolute majority of the profiles that we received with the "EXPEDITE" label were reviewed and promptly accepted.
We have received reports on a handful of bugs from our customers and we are grateful for that. We also received even more feature requests, some of which are genuinely unique and some of them are on our "to do list" for some time already. All these inputs are greatly appreciated.
Our plan for this upcoming week is to start enabling larger profiles and progress further with applying our multifaceted payment solution.

We are at the point when we start getting back to our normal operations. Starting this Monday, we will begin charging live accounts of the existing subscribers in order to restore money flow to our content creators. Simultaneously, we will enable a few selected profiles to accept new subscribers.
Started with smaller size accounts, we will progress towards the bigger ones, just to keep the load under control while testing everything along the way.
After we done with the processing of all existing billings, we will get back to the long list of applications that are waiting in line for the review and approval. And right after that, we will enable all profiles to accept new subscribers and receive donations. At the same time subscribers, who joined the “free tier” with $0 subscription price may change the subscription tier to ones with real USD values.
This is an update on the situation with the payment processors.
Passed yet another the longest week in our lives, during which we have done a fair amount of changes throughout the platform - from legal documents to workflow and user-facing features while integrating the payment system. We had just under 50 conference calls speaking with nearly a dozen companies discussing existing and possible solutions. We received literally hundreds of messages of support and dozens of leads to the alternatives for the payment processing. Thank you all for this!
Starting Tuesday, we will begin live testing of the new payment solution. We will start with selected profiles and will proceed carefully from there - we wouldn't want to dwarf our previous effort and ruin your expectation by rushing into this.
Most of the technical preparations are over. Most of the Stars have been paid out. ETA for the new solution for everybody is next week.
Just a quick update, so you know we are here and are moving forward.
In the last couple of days, many of you have asked if there is a progress of any sort. Yes, there is progress, considering we have holidays season. In spite of that, we have managed to solidify one agreement to process payments and are working on the backup one. At the moment we can not reveal what the solutions are - you will find out really soon. We work hard on both fronts - legal and technical - to integrate payment options that will be more robust than ones we used before.
Also, subscribers should know - their admired Stars are receiving payouts on daily basis.

As you already likely know, the payment processors that we have been using for over a year have just canceled their services with us. We stand firm in our resolve that we will not use PayPal in any shape or form in the foreseeable future. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
At this time, your supporters cannot donate or subscribe to your account. Given this unfortunate and very temporary situation, we added the ability for new users to subscribe for free. If this interests you, please utilize a $0 tier to take advantage of this option.
These payment processors nebulously claim that we have not complied with their policies. PayPal has not given us any further explanation whatsoever. Stripe has frozen our funds and given us 14 days to reshape our business model beyond the point of any business sense, quoting the following:
"Aggregation involves accepting payments on behalf of other individuals/entities and obscuring the payout of these funds. We can’t support this type of setup because it prevents Stripe from screening these individuals/entities for money laundering, terrorist financing, and other prohibited activities..."
They further demanded that we remove sponsored content that they find objectionable.
We are certain that our customers would not support the options that Stripe has left open for us; therefore, we have refused to comply. We are instead working towards integrating other payment processing options. A large percentage of the monies held by Stipe never reached our bank account, but this will not affect your balance as we will use our personal and company funds to fulfill the payouts, if necessary.
In providing this update, we ask that you stay calm and rest assured that all of your monies will be paid to you promptly upon request. We will be enabling payout via bank info from your Payout page and can assist you in entering the required information if you so need.
