End-of-Month Update for July 2021: I decided to start some work on a practical project, a steam boiler for my workshop.  Design work alone is going to take quite some time, and I have no idea when I'll finally get round to building it.  Depending on how much the raw material costs, and what my income is like when the project finally gets going, I may add another funding goal here.  So far, I have two entries for this project, part 1 and part 2.  Follow me on Hive for more updates.

End-of-Month Update for March 2021: this past month, I finally got round to casting bronze in my miniature foundry, so I now know that I can make proper jewellery!  All I need now are ideas.  I'm back home at the moment, which means that I've resumed design work.  The first design project that I've completed is yet another steampunk airship, the Iron Rose.  As with the Zaphnora a year ago, I decided to make a video documenting the assembly, showing off the components up close and explaining some things about it.  There are other design projects related to my fictional world that I want to complete soon as well, this way I have a substantial collection of props for a web comic or some other media with which to share the actual story.  That's getting pushed to the side for now, as I just got a request for another model tank. Luckily, it's one I've already made, I just need to add more detail for a larger scale. Once the props are done, I'll probably move on to jewellery designs, and I'll try to come up with a variety of samples that I can create for an Etsy catalogue.  Discounts will be available for subscribers, of course.

Right, so I promised some pictures of my vacuum-forming tests a few days ago, but that's not going to happen.  I haven't had time to run any of my own test pieces, and I've instead been running tests with forms that I made for a customer.  Since this is confidential work, I can't share it.  However, I'll probably get the lumber for my shooting gallery project today, so you'll get to see that instead.  I have altered the design a bit since originally posting this video, so what I'll actually be building is pictured below.  I have a blueprint as well with a bill of materials, so if anyone is interested in building something like this, the blueprint will be in a subscriber-exclusive post.  The drawing I'm using isn't fully annotated, since I have a lot of the information in my head.  If you need a better drawing, or you want a slightly different setup, I can provide you with a blueprint in exchange for a $20 tip.  Alternatively, you can subscribe at Tier 3, and get free blueprints for anything whenever you want.
