Polis

Polis (πόλις), literally means city in Greek. It can also mean a body of citizens.

What is an army without the people? Similarly where would I be without you guys?

Skeuophoros

A skeuophoros (Greek: Σκευοφόρος "Βaggage carried") was a slave or servant who carried baggage in Ancient Greece. Herodotus records that every hoplite was followed on campaign by a servant as a skeuophoros.

If an army doesn't move it can't win. Even the smallest donations can help

Hoplite

Hoplites (Ancient Greek: Ὁπλιτης) were citizen-soldiers of Ancient Greek city-states who were primarily armed with spears and shields. Hoplite soldiers utilized the phalanx formation in order to be effective in war with fewer soldiers.

Though used in small battles still effective. As will your donation be towards my content creation.

Pezhetairos

The pezhetairoi (Greek and Ancient Macedonian: πεζέταιροι, singular: pezhetairos) were the backbone of the Macedonian army and Diadochi kingdoms. They were literally "foot companions" (in Greek, pezos means "pedestrian" and hetairos means "companion" or "friend").

Pikeman engage the enemy at a distance. Your donation ensures that my long distance communications to the audience remain strategically sound.

Pentakosiarch

Meaning "commander of 500", is a Greek military rank, first adopted in the infantry of the Army of Macedon (cf. Aelianus Tacticus and Plutarch, Life of Alexander, 76). The pentakosiarch commanded a pentakosiarchy (πεντακοσιαρχία, or pentakosiarchia) of 512 men, composed of two syntagmata of 256.

Just as gears in a machine turn so do those of war. Men are needed to lead men. Your donation will help continue to lead me on that path of content creation.

Chiliarch

In the Ancient Macedonian army, a chiliarch was the commander of a 1024-strong chiliarchy or taxis of the pezhetairoi and the hypaspists heavy infantry, subdivided into 64 files (lochoi) of 16 men each.

Draw forth your rod of iron, rule mankind in justice. For some cannot stand mercy. Your donation will be my rod of iron in maintaining a stream of content, let that future come.

Somatophylakes

σωματοφύλαξ, in its literal English translation from Greek, means "bodyguards". They consisted of seven men, drawn from the Macedonian nobility, who also acted as high-ranking military officers, holding command positions such as general or chiliarch.

Just as the seven bodyguards that warded the life of Alexander the great, so you too protect the continuation of the work I do.
