I've been working on a tab for Rainbow Connection and this is the video that I did as I started working on this tab to give you the idea of the workflow that I have when I make one of these tabs.
This tab is the guitar part with lyrics in between the standard notation and the tab. I'll make another post showing you where I am at the moment. Let me know if you like what you see.
I could take out the standard notation and just put the lyrics with the tab. That would make the sheet look less busy for people who don't care about or understand standard notation.
"Why do you write the standard notation first?" Because I think in terms of the music itself and not guitar tab. You will see in this video how I "see" the music as I'm writing it down and then how I turn this into guitar tablature.
This morning I'm still putting in the lyrics. Even when I'm not writing out the melody in notation there are thousands of elements to look at and check in a tab to make sure it is correct. Hopefully I'll get this finished today and then on to other editing and making videos. I've also got a few lessons to teach and some outside work to do after the sun comes up.
