How My Town is Preparing for Emergencies

1. First-rate fire company.
2. Highly professional police force.
3. Outstanding mayor and town council.
4. Community made up of many military, law enforcement, intelligence and other professionals who know and understand emergency management.
5. Spent many years creating an Emergency Operations Plan and a Continuity of Operations Plan.
6. Keep updated lists of professionals like skilled construction workers who can cut out down trees in roadways.
7. Established an Emergency Operations Center with full communications equipment and keep it stocked with food, water, medical supplies, etc.
8. We have successfully exercised our emergency operations plans in Hurricane Irene and other natural disasters.
9. Wrote Memorandum of Understanding and signed them with multiple town vendors (Ace Hardware, Wal Mart, etc.)
10. The great majority of our community is made up of God fearing, law abiding, hard working parents and children.
