The medium is the message and there is no medium quite like comic books. Like movies, they’re visual yet they do not move. If someone speaks, it takes up space on the page; every page is a unit of thought. Like books, they have words but words don’t play by the same rules as when you create prose. They’re not storyboards because they aren’t instructions for movement but instead, they make your brain think that they’re moving, hearing sounds, and watching characters.
