Bolivia Expels Venezuelan Diplomats!  BRICS Nations Meet In Brasilia

BRICS nations are meeting this week, and Chinese President Xi and Vladimir Putin are themselves in Brazil.  The future of the BRICS has been in question for the last year, since the election of conservative Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro.  China has suffered crop losses due to weather and livestock losses from African swine flu.  They need to purchase agricultural commodities badly, even as they resist President Trump's policy of charging tariffs in addition to the price of US products.  The BRICS alliance was created to challenge the US dollar, now the group has evolved into a forum for real commerce and dialog a bit removed from Trump's domination and bravado.  China invested in Brazil's agricultural infrastructure with dam and irrigation projects prior to the Bolsonaro Government, only to buy back the fruit of those investments at fair market rates today.  Even so, purchases being negotiated with Brazil pale in comparison with the much larger deals on the table between China and the USA.

The Venezuelan embassy in Brazil was overtaken and occupied Wednesday by supporters of Interim President Juan Guaido.  This would have been a daring move at any time, but it was done during the presence in Brazil of Xi and Putin!  These heavy-handed, militant dictators are the true power behind Venezuelan Dictator Nicolas Maduro, and to take the embassy while they were physically present at a peaceful summit in a neighboring third nation was a powerful statement.  It was also a serious slight against Russia and China, both potent enemies already aggressively supporting Maduro.  After Brazilian diplomats negotiated for peace, Guaido's supporters withdrew from the embassy.

Yesterday, Maduro's diplomats in Bolivia were ordered to depart the nation.  Bolivian Interim President Jeanine Anez Chavez's administration ordered them out, even as she accused Venezuela of stirring the unrest continuing in Bolivia.  She has reached out to Juan Guaido for a diplomatic presence from his opposition government, and her own government is now strengthened by acknowledgement by Brazil, Guatemala, and the USA.  I am becoming more and more convinced that Anez is a true conservative, Christian godsend that arose at the critical instant to turn a very bad situation.  Deposed Bolivian Dictator Evo Morales stated from exile in Mexico that he is still legally president because his resignation was not accepted by the legislature; some members of his cabinet (which also resigned) are similarly attempting to withdraw their resignations.  This is indicative that the succession of Anez was completely unforseen and is viewed as catastrophic by Morales and the globalists.  Anez's claim to the presidency was based not on Morales's resignation, but his abandonment of Bolivian territory, a constitutional criterion for abdication!  Perhaps a bright new day has begun in Bolivia;  I hope the OAS and USA are ready to provide humanitarian aid for the transition.
