Venezuelan Dictator Granted Seat On UN Human Rights Council

This week, the government of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro was granted a seat on the United Nations Council on Human Rights.  Granting a seat on this council to one of the world's most egregious violators of human rights highlights the total corruption of the UN, and its obsolescence (declared by El Salvadorean President Nayib Bukele who mocked the organization from its own lectern, while taking a selfie).  The duties and tasks of the UN are being undertaken increasingly by the Organization of American States (OAS).  The UN is globalist, dismissive of small, conservative member nations, and headed by notorious Portuguese communist Antonio Guterres.  The OAS is nationalistic/hemispheric, led and run by Latin member states (most all democracies), and is headed by Uruguayan conservative Luís Almagro.  (Almagro has been criticized in historically leftist Uruguay for his stance, but his policies seem to have affected his homeland.  With only two weeks before presidential elections in Uruguay, the left is deeply divided.  This may lead to a conservative victory and the death of socialism in one of the few remaining "pink tide" nations.)

Venezuela turned away Guatemalan president-elect Dr. Alejandro Giammatei Tuesday at Caracas airport customs.  Dr. Giammatei has not fully committed to US policy regarding immigration and our hard stance against Maduro's Venezuela.  He was scheduled to meet with opposition President Juan Guaidó Saturday, but was turned away by Maduro's agents.  The agents refused his Italian passport, stated that he was not invited by Maduro, and escorted him back to his aircraft for departure.  Perhaps Giammattei will now commit his nation fully to US/OAS policy regarding Venezuela.
