Germs are real and genes are real. What this quote points out is the part we do control and still refuse to look at. These are daily habits that either build a body to fight illness or one that stays inflamed, exhausted and easy to take down.
It is easier to say “something attacked me” or “it’s in the family” than to admit the pop, crappy sleep, stagnant lifestyle, anxiety and junk food are taking a toll. It's human nature to blame something when what you really need to do requires YOU to change. Sadly, most of us would rather stay sick in a familiar way than get well in one that forces accountability.
Doing the right thing is rarely the easiest, but is worth it in the end.
