Who else has marketing fatigue? Who needs a mental rest from being a constant product?
You used to be able to open an app and do what you needed to do. Now you open it and are forced to watch a 15-second ad. Before you know it something else tries to upsell you cloud storage, a “premium alert” or a smarter camera. That is the new normal.
Youtube used to be somewhere you could grab quick information like a recipe, and now you cannot watch a video without a “huge thanks to our sponsor.” You cannot listen to a podcast without three mid-rolls. You cannot use a free tool without a banner, a popup, a newsletter capture or a quiet harvest of everything you just did.
The product is no longer something you seek out. The product is you. Marketing used to be confined to billboards, magazines or the last two minutes of a show. Now it lives inside the simple things, seemingly ALL the simple things. Regardless if you are checking a feed, looking something up or playing a song, everything wants your attention, information and money.
A lot of people are growing tired of it. We want a few ordinary moments that are not a transaction. We are asking to be left alone in the places that used to be simple. Sometimes we need to turn everything off and get a mental reset.
Much Love, Lynn

Then turn things OFF. Go outside and sit and look at the sky, quiet your mind. Be. If it's raining, go inside, find a cozy spot, and read a book. No ads there.
