Power to the People, Signed: Power
A review of Richard Hanania's Kakistocracy

I started reading Richard Hanania’s Kakistocracy on my parents’ porch a month ago, watching my son play with his friend in the backyard blowup pool. I had a few free hours and figured I’d knock out a couple of chapters on the sofa.
My dad and I cannot be in the same place without talking about politics. We’ve been trying to do it less lately, because we disagree too much and both enjoy fighting far too much to stop once we’ve started. But it’s the thing we did together when I was growing up, and it’s the thing we always come back to.
He thinks I’ve become infinitely jaded. He has maintained loyal MAGA support through thick and thin. So I figured, if anyone could get a bit of skepticism into him, maybe it could be Hanania. It certainly wasn’t going to be me. I’m his daughter. Far too close to home.

For what it's worth; I don't think you're jaded as much as demoralized in both the traditional sense of the word and in the sense Yuri Bezmenov brought us when he defected from the USSR.
As to your post I don't think we as "the Right" are in power. Here in Canada, to the extent we matter at all, we have hardly been less influential. In the US, despite holding the Presidency, Supreme Court, House and Senate, Trump continues to fail to pass key legislation; SAVE and DOGE in particular and continues to be beclowned by any federate judge who cares to.
Instead, with another useless war in the middle east, it feels like the old Elites are very much in power behind the scenes. While the left may be weak in the US, currently; I don't think we can say populism as a concept has a real hold on anything.
I'm a three-time Yrump voter with zero regrets. I will never vote for w Democrat. The demographic shift that sees women drifting far left and men slightly drifting right has been shown with the insane Lindsey Clancy cult supporters. If anything has been learned by me in the last ten years, it's that the left wants me dead. They want to destroy everything thst I hold dear, and I will fight to the death to prevent that from happening. I have been radicalized in the last 10 years thanks to the left.
You're not entirely wrong but remember there is no left or right. It's simply good vs evil.
