Five Somalis convicted in $49m Minneapolis fraud trial after juror was offered $120k cash bribe
Breaking: Five Somalis have been convicted in a federal fraud trial in Minneapolis of stealing up to $49 million meant to feed hungry children. In a huge shock at trial, it was revealed a juror was offered a bag crammed with $120k in cash to acquit them.
Those convicted are all connected to the Dar Al-Farooq mosque: Hayat Mohamed Nur, 27, Abdiaziz S. Farah, 35, Mohamed J. Ismail, 51, Abdimajid Mohamed Nur, 23, and Mukhtar Mohamed Shariff, 33.
70 Somalis were charged by federal prosecutors in the huge fraud case where $250 million of taxpayer money was stolen in the Minneapolis area through nonprofits during the pandemic. 18 others had already pleaded guilty. Some have fled the U.S. to escape justice. The defendants used the money to buy more than 40 properties in the U.S., Kenya and Turkey. They also bought luxury goods and over 20 cars.
Minneapolis' political culture is tainted by all types of fraud (financial, marriage, voter) involving Democrats and its large, insular Somali community.
