Offerings go towards simple living expenses, teaching, and future publishing of Buddhist translations and writings. A major aspect of monastic life is that monks are required to live without handling money. In the west, your offerings provide support in a culture where traditional alms rounds are not practiced for the daily meal, for example. In America, these traditions are culturally very difficult and don't work so well. Donations help venerable to live by traditional ascetic principles, and teach Buddhist philosophy and meditation in a mostly non-Buddhist culture.

Oh Will These Video Links Never Cease? (Feb-March 2021)

A devastating onslaught of video links, indicating that I should start posting these more often. Not only includes new Brian Ruhe Show episodes, but also older ones recently uploaded onto my own channel, Q&A videos, and an interview with a new non-Marxist western Buddhist teacher.

A Few Points on the Utter Naïveté of Progressives

This one may be a matter of flogging a long-dead horse, or maybe choking a dead chicken, but I don’t care, because sometimes I feel like saying this stuff because I consider it to be not only important, but so freaking obvious that it astonishes me that so many people just won’t see it...

New and Upcoming Interviews

https://youtu.be/sCKHSkSOdJ0
This is a video of the after show interview:
I was on a podcast recently with WPRPN (World Pirate Radio Podcast Network) with host Japhy Ryder, discussing various monkish topics (the podcast is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6G9N... among a few other places); and after the show we did an after-show "Rogue's Gallery" in which Brian Ruhe joined us and we discussed even more monkish topics. This is a long segment from the after-show show in which we talk about Buddhism mostly, and how Theravadin philosophies and terms compare with those of Mahayana.

I will be doing a few more interviews with Brian this evening, followed by another interview by a new host tomorrow - that is yet to be announced. More to come...

The Clueless Human Animal

We didn't outgrow our own animal nature when we evolved into humans, we simply added to it.

The Simile of the Block of Marble

An essay I wrote on the old blog, but it is essentially my theory of everything (TOE), including why we exist here in the first place.

Two Tales of the God-Emperor

I am in the habit of walking outside at night. Often I do walking meditation, consisting of focusing my mind on the syllable AUM, or sometimes just being mindfully aware of the experiences of walking outside at night. But of course sometimes I think of things, and sometimes little artistic inspirations or duendes occur to me.

Reconciling Karma with Materialism: The Many Lives of Schrödinger’s Cat

I have already attempted elsewhere to explain the Buddhist idea of karma in a way that even a hard-headed scientific realist could accept... But that was mainly regarding what karma itself is (the momentum of our mental energy, which serves as a kind of autopilot to those of us who are not fully awake, rather similar to Schopenhauer’s conception of Will), merely touching on some of the more obvious ways in which it can reach fruition in a godless material world...

Atheism (and Theism) vs. Reality: The Church of Scientific Realism II

https://politicallyincorrectdharma.blogspot.com/2020/08/atheism-and-theism-vs-reality-church-of_11.html
A continuation of the previous essay, pointing out the weaknesses and limitations of scientism, the faltering atheistic religion of the west.

ATHEISM (AND THEISM) VS. REALITY: THE CHURCH OF SCIENTIFIC REALISM I

Scientific realism, or scientism, simply stated, is the idea that science actually explains reality—that is, that science more or less faithfully describes a physical, pluralistic external universe that exists as described even if no conscious mind is observing it...

THE GOAL
REACHED!
Many thanks to all of you who have helped get this off the ground in the fall of 2020 and achieve our first goal. Ultimately the goal is to become self-sufficient here in the west, and not dependent upon Buddhist immigrant communities, kind and generous as they are, but supported by people in general who can appreciate a western and iconoclastic yet still fundamentalist approach to Buddhist philosophy and practice. My plan is to continue cranking out content for you and hopefully publish more works in the future in more traditional book formats as funds allow. Be happy.
