One of the most time consuming aspects of working with Houdini Engine is moving HDA to the correct directories. In This video I build a simple radial menu system to allow for fast export of HDA's to multiple locations.
Recently I was asked about muscle systems in kineFX. There is currently no native implementation of a muscle system in kineFX but as KineFX is part of SOPs it is pretty simple to set up a system. This was the first implementation that came to mind but I also thought about a meta-ball based system.
In this video we create an HDA for the rig and connect the controls so that we can manipulate the rig without the need to select the pose nodes. The customization of the controls is limited at the moment when not using scripting but we can still create an accessible rig.
ProRender is a GPU accelerated path-tracer. It is free and open source and comes with a plug-in that integrates it with Houdini's Solaris. In this video I explain how you can install it.
I have released a basic auto-rigging course on Udemy. It is based off the system I made for my game, this system will be more complex though. Currently the course covers the basic prototype, now I will start to polish the rig and add more complex features.
This has been a time consuming process but I can now spend more time working back to working on my game as well as finding more ways to fund it.
