Since people have mentioned reading Paper Doll Veronika with their children (I'm very pleased to hear of girls enjoying it!) I thought I should write a content advisory just to be sure there are no unpleasant surprises.

I consider this comic appropriate for approximately ages 7 and up, but parents should know there are some frightening and disturbing elements, much like old fairy tales, including deaths of major characters. There is a fair amount of violence, usually visually consisting of dolls getting torn and small splats of red-ink-on-red-paper blood. There is one mention of a man "having an affair" with a woman and begetting an illegitimate child, and one occasion where a man attempts to marry another man's wife; these are explicitly stated to be bad. The word "damn" is used a few times. There is magic, portrayed as good/neutral when derived from the natural order of creation and bad when derived from demonic powers.
