Welcome to the SubscribeStar page. This thing is meant to help defray the hosting costs associated with the Old Computer Fun Network, including:

Current hosting costs are $10.50 per month, although this will change as PeerTube and the Old Computer VPN are spun up. My guesstimation is that PeerTube will cost $24/mo (although this can be rolled in with some of the other services) and the Old Computer VPN inner OpenVPN server will cost $4.50/mo, for a total of $28.50.
Any contributions in excess of current hosting costs will be rolled back into the channel and services in some way. If there is excess funding, my intention is to allow a 3-month buffer to accumulate, then use excess beyond that to buy broken old hardware (and the parts and supplies to fix it) to make videos about. If these machines are suitable to put on the Old Computer VPN and run services on for you guys to play with, then I will keep them and do that. If the machines are not suitable for such use, they will be given away to a supporter through a post here, via random selection. I don't know if selection should be weighted towards supporters who contribute more, or if everyone should have an equal chance. Let's talk about that.
If the Old Computer VPN grows to the point of consuming nontrivial amounts of electricity, I may start metering it and applying some of these funds towards that.
I intend for all funding to be fully transparent. On the 1st of each month, a post will be made here detailing the amount of contribution in the previous month, along with expenses and current balance.
