If you had covid back in say May of 2021, when are antibodies gone? I was told tha it's unlikely to get covid again within that timeframe (back in December) & highly unlikely with children. How true is this?
Your antibodies are never gone, however, they can 'wane' but you can easily check them with a simple blood test. I am not sure of what you mean by the time frame. So from May 2021 - Dec 2021? Yes, that would be unlikely. The likelihood of someone contracting the same strain is very low. Once you have a new strain prevalent in your area, you absolutely can contract it again. The good news, is that you still have a very good level of protection. So far, and we don't have a ton of data on Omicron, however, so far they are already seeing that omicron is much less ever, however, even LESS severe in those who have already had covid.
Sorry, new to this, I hit enter and it posted my incomplete response lol. New strains take a while to come around. That is why we call certain viruses 'seasonal'. I personally believe that Delta was much more a strain directly due to the shots being given. Omicron mutated in ways that made more sense. It had selective pressure aka the shot and it mutated in over 30 places that targeted exactly where the shot targeted, the spike protein. That is why so many experts were concerned about mass vaccination during a very active outbreak. It CREATES new variants. We don't need to create them, they happen naturally and Omicron looks to be a very nature based mutation. I say that because, if you have followed any of my virus talk, you know that in nature, viruses do not want to kill us. Sadly, they do and any can, not just new ones or sever ones depending on your immune system. However, when we have RNA viruses that mutate rapidly, as do coronaviruses, they mutate to create less severe variants. Yes, there can be a few that spawn off a more severe strain. It happens, it actually did happen with this virus, in a few different Countries. They quickly disappeared because they couldbn't survive, just like SARS 1 & MERS didn't make it around the globe and now they are completely gone. This is because they were too pathogenetic. They both had very high fatality rates and did were not extremely infectious. They basically killed themselves.
2nd question:) If a person is exposed to a person who tested positive, is it best to quarantine, or just wear a mask just in case? I feel like we are exposed daily, but when should I really be concerned about catching it & getting others sick if I don't quarantine?
My general rule is I am not concerned unless the person is symptomatic. We are exposed all the time to so many things. Keep your health up as best as possible, wash hands, and do all the normal preventative measures. This is not going anywhere, but it is certainly going in a good direction.
Not sure if it’s too late on this, but do you have any thoughts on CBD oil in prevention or treatment of COVID? I read some of a study but it was a little confusing and made it sound like the oil available OTC did not contain the best compounds. I know many who use Charlotte’s Web but I never personally tried it myself and was wondering if it was something else to have on hand.
