Or not. Anyway, this piece’s biggest challenge was the intricacy of the background … or lack thereof.

I try to do my best to be as accurate as reasonably possible when doing art in other styles, but those buildings were just so damn detailed only for them to be covered by layers of purple fire that I just decided to simplify them to make my life easier.

That being said, the purple flame was still kind of a bitch to get down. It still isn’t as nice as I would’ve liked, but it was also my first time painting fire to look as show-accurate to ATLA as I could manage.
