One U2 cover
One surprise I had just last week is when one of my students who normally just loves country music asked for "One" by U2.  I thought "OK, this is different." Then he surprised me and asked for the Johnny Cash version. I was surprised to find out that Johnny Cash covered this song. He sings it an octave lower than U2.
Here are some of the top comments from that video:
Donald -  "The first time I heard this version I was riveted. All the optimism of the U2 version gone, replaced by tragic longing. It is amazing the level of emotion that this man can summon."
Gary - "If Johnny cash covers one of your songs, it's no longer yours"
Nyarlath - "Can a cover be better than the original? Now we have the answer."
It just goes to show you that everyone has their own taste in music. Whether you like the U2 version, or the Johnny Cash version, or any other version, it's OK. I'll be coming out with the lesson in a couple of days.
Well, I got my computer up and running and it rendered this video in 58 seconds instead of 20 minutes like my old computer. I'm excited. Now if I could just get fast internet that would make everything amazing. It's not a matter of cost, it's a mater of availability. Someday...
Thanks for all your support everyone.
