I know it’s not New Year’s Eve yet, but I did a little year-in-review recently and realized a few things:
- I should probably start paying rent to my vet, considering how much time I’ve spent there with my cat lately.
- I have no idea where my taxes go, but definitely not to training government clerks—unless they’re being trained to screw up the simplest things.
- In summer, I basically live on the beach. And no, it’s not a bad place to live.
- After all these years of writing, I can say with a clear conscience that even though I have at least one crisis about it every single day—I still love it.
- I recently discovered I can safely pop my own neck back into place when it goes slightly off.
- I really, truly hate the cold. I’m not leaving the house until next summer.
- I actually like my calm, organized life. No, I don’t need a “great adventure.” Why would I? I can write as many as I want.
- I’m starting to think my graphic designer has forgotten about me.
If I make it to January without freezing or losing my mind, I’ll call it a win.
