My guests today are pianist Winnie Cheung and Ben Bogart of the duo BEN AND WINNIE.

Winnie has a Doctorate in Musical composition from the Eastman School of Music, and a BA from the University of Chicago. She discovered Tango dancing in 2014, and very shortly after that, found herself diving into the musical world of tango.

In 2015 she formed the duo Tamango with violinist Julia Shannon. In 2016, she became the pianist for the renowned group, Cuarteto Tanguero. She tours internationally to perform, and is also a soloist.

Ben Bogart is the co-director and founder of. Cuarteto Tanguero. He is also the group's bandoneon player.

Ben studied classical music at UC Santa Cruz and jazz at Berklee College of Music before traveling to Argentina to pursue a 2-year certificate at the esteemed Orquesta Escuela de Tango Emilio Balcarce in Buenos Aires. He spent a total of 6 years in Argentina, and studied with the top bandoneón players and tango musicians there.

Currently, Ben and Winnie are making waves with their Tiny Footprint Tango Tour. With an energetic and expressive style, they've been wowing tango fans with their broad repertoire of sounds ranging from the 1920s through the Golden Age...
