Great countries have small beginnings. And America is no different from when it was created by Dutch and English settlers. But it was one settlement in 1607 that would forever change history through punishing trials that would lead to the enshrinement of property rights into its foundations — Jamestown, Virginia. How did those colonists survive? What lessons did they learn? What can we still glean from them today to make the torch of liberty burn brighter?
