Weekly Update: #23

Happy Friday! Welcome back for another weekly update.
First off, I am so, so sorry for getting my dates mixed up in last week's update post! I looked at the calendar wrong and got next Thursday mixed up with last Thursday (have I said that August has been a super crazy month?). Anyway, it's this coming Thursday (September 2), when the next chapter draft from An Inkling of Magic will be posting.
So, last weekend was my very last show for the summer which is a huge relief as I very much ready for a break! Sadly, it didn't do well at all as it was just far too hot for anyone to come out to it. Still, some business cards went out and who knows what those will lead to in future. Also, it was really exciting there for a while as someone was very interested in my most expensive piece having asked the price and saying they'd need to think about it; alas, they must have talked themselves out of it as they didn't come back, but it's still nice to have had that level of interest in it. And, as I said, who knows in future, maybe they'll be back! Although a little disappointed in how the show went, I can't say that I'm surprised. It wasn't a fine art show like what I usually do, but just a small, local festival with mostly small crafts and MLMs. I don't generally do the local shows for that very reason (they're just not the right type of show for my work), but last year it was the only thing available as everything else canceled and it actually didn't do too badly. So, I decided to give it another try this year, however, given how it went and how much they raised their booth fee, I rather doubt that anyone in my family (we all had booths) will be back for another year.
Speaking of shows, I've applied to my last one for the year! This one is an actual art show and one I've done many times before, so I'm hopeful I'll get back in this year. They do have more limited spaces than normal due to ongoing repair from last year's floods, so we'll see. My mom and I even managed to talk my dad into applying to it this year! However, this show, should we get in, isn't until mid/late November giving me plenty of time to set the jewellery work aside so I can focus on my writing and digital art for a bit.
Which is precisely what I've already started working on! Between trying to put some things back in order and finishing one last project for a customer, I've been getting a start on October's chapter of An Inkling of Magic. I'm currently only a few hundred words in, but I'm confident that I'll have it finished in plenty of time. It's also now full speed ahead on the book resurrection project as I'm hoping/praying to  be able to release it sometime next summer.
I'm also going to be putting a big push into getting a few of my digital painting projects finished off so that I can start working on new ones. More on that later though when I post my project goals for September as I need to figure out which ones to finish off first.
Well, I think that about wraps up this week's update! Thanks for reading, and see you next week!
