Weekly Update: #21

Good morning! And happy Friday!
This week has been an odd one, and, for a while, I didn't know if I would be able to write an update post this week. Tuesday night, we had a sever storm go through the area and leave massive tree carnage (I have never seen so many trees/parts of trees down at one time in this town in all the years we've been living here!!). There isn't a single road through town that doesn't have tree branches or entire trees down. We lost parts off of several in our own backyard which, thankfully, did not land on anything important. Most of town was without power and, for a while, we thought we were fine as we were on a different grid than the rest of town. However, around 4pm Wednesday, our power went out also and was out for over 24hrs. They finally got it back on last night, for which we are extremely thankful as the power company had been saying they wouldn't be able to get it back up until late afternoon Monday!!
So, as you can probably guess, I didn't get a whole lot done this week. Though I did manage a couple hundred more words on From the Ashes before we lost power. Like last week, much of this week had been preparing for next week's show, though this time it wasn't for getting myself ready for it but helping my mom get her own stuff ready. Next week's show is just a really small local event and I'm pretty much all ready for it, however, I'm not the only on in the family doing that show. My mom, dad, and sister will all be there as well with their work  which means I'm having to make a hoard of product labels for my mom (she makes all-natural soaps, lotions, beard oils/balms, etc.) which was what I was working on when the power went out and now I have to rush to get them all ready in time.
Speaking of shows, last weekend's art show went extremely well!! The first day was absolutely beautiful and I made in just the first day what I usually do for the entire two days! The second day started of with a colossal deluge of rain but, after much praying, finally cleared off about an hour to two into the show and was beautiful for the rest of the day. In the end, even with the moment of rain, the second day ended up be almost as busy and brisk in sales as the first day! Even during the rain, people still came out.
Looking forward to being back there again next year, but, right now, I'm really looking forward to the nice break I have before my last show in November so I can focus on making some really good writing progress on everything!
Speaking of writing, next week is the third week of August! On Monday, the I'll be posting the next chapter draft of From the Ashes!
And I think that about wraps up another update!
As always, thanks for reading and for your support!
