The Last Things

Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silent –
The days are running out like sand.
Our hearts cannot bear loss of parents,
And the empty home patch of land.

When the worst finally comes to the worst,
And the end of all comfort has come,
What to do, if Mother is gone now?
Our hearts and minds now struck dumb.

All comforting clichés are empty,
Gnawing sorrow can find no relief.
Only the Eternal can give hope now –
That bides with us in our grief.

Overwhelming emotions are a storm,
That buffets and damages the soul.
The World was never our home,
Only Heaven can make us all whole.
