So I tried precipitating sodium potassium cyanide with a mixture of ethanol and butanol. It seemed to do a little bit better (emphasis on the SEEMED TO part). I have not had a chance to quantify it yet. The cyanide problem is now the only real obstacle to octacyanomolybdate. The new prep should be exceptionally easy to carry out. Hopefully dissolving the cyanide in methanol to recover it will yield better results than water does.
