August 28, 2020 Update: I was out horseback riding last weekend and my horse tripped taking a right turn and smashed my foot between her body and the ground.  I'm ok, but my foot was bruised rather badly and was pretty sore for a few days, so I've been staying off my feet most of this week to let it heal.  I made some progress on a couple of novels that I am working on in parallel.  One is sort of an allegorical western fantasy (yeah, it's kind of a genre conundrum) and the other is a hypothetical look at ammunition self-sufficiency.  I also made some progress on preparing machining drawings for another muzzleloader design that I want to build.  And, speaking of genre conundrums, I stumbled across a musical presentation of Tolkien's poem "Far Over the Misty Mountains" on YouTube and decided it would be fun to re-write it in the context of the gold-rush days of the old west. I went ahead and made a video where I sang it to the same tune as Tolkien's poem was presented, so that has been added to my upload queue, although in truth, these words might work better with more of a country-western melody than a medieval chant.  Anyway, with my muzzleloaders now available on Dollarhide Mercantile, this weekend I plan to upload an overview video that I made about my muzzleloaders, and then next weekend I'll probably upload the "Forgotten Weapons" style video that I did about them.
