PODCAST #018 - THE DARK WEB 1

CAUTION: PLEASE BE WARNED THAT SOME CONTENT PROVIDED ON THESE DEEP WEB LINKS IS VERY DISTURBING, EVEN TRAUMATIZING. THERE ARE ALSO A LOT OF SCAMS AND GENERAL FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY. I DONT ADVICE NOR ENDORSE VISITING THE DARK WEB, BUT IF YOU MUST VISIT IT AT YOUR OWN RISK, AND DO IT SAFELY. I GIVE YOU A 101 INTO SAFETY BUT LET ME REPEAT MYSELF, I ADVISE AGAINST IT.

There are two webs. There is a “normal” web most people visit every day, which is easily accessible and indexed by search engines. And then, there’s the “dark web,” which consists of everything hidden under the surface. These websites won’t show up with search engines and can’t be accessed without special software. The dark web is a subset of the deep web. The dark web exists on darknets, which are “overlay networks.”

These networks are built on top of the “normal” internet, but they require special software to access. They aren’t normally visible or accessible to people who aren’t aware of it or slightly technically savvy. People won’t find dark web sites out of chance as it happens with the “regular” web often, you have to know what you are looking for. To understand the horrors of human trafficking and child sex abuse, one has to be aware of this damned territory.
