May 29, 2020 Update: Well, this week I finally was able to fix the overheating problem with my truck.  It turns out the radiator was mostly clogged up, all except the top three channels, which had good flow and made it look like it was working properly even though it wasn't cooling the coolant appreciably.  Anyway, I was glad to get that repair out of the way.  I am almost finished with the Champion.  When I proof-tested it remotely, the barrel held up just fine, but the recoil caused the breech latch to bounce open, allowing the breech to partially open on firing.  I replaced the latch spring with a much stiffer spring, and that seems to have solved the problem with the latch bouncing open under recoil, but it also made the latch rather difficult to open, so I am planning to make an enlarged thumb pad for the latch so that I can push it open more easily.  Hopefully I can finish that next week.  I have recorded a lot of video footage from the Champion project, but I haven't started editing it yet.  After the Champion, I have a couple of different projects that I plan to work on.  On the one hand, there is a sighting system that I want to build a proof-of-concept for, and on the other hand I still need to finish building my CNC router.  Anyway, this weekend I think I will upload a video I made last fall about a prototype "cavalry carbine" muzzleloader.
