What is Endless Sky?
Endless Sky is an indie space adventure game created by Michael Zahniser and heavily inspired by the game Escape Velocity by Ambrosia Software. The game is free and open source, available for everyone on GitHub
. Development of the game is a labor of love from everyone involved.

Who does this SubscribeStar page support?
This page only supports Amazinite/Derpy Horse.
Michael Zahniser, the game's creator, has declined payment/donations for the game for a number of reasons, among which being contractual obligations to his current job, as well as a desire to not turn development of Endless Sky from a hobby into a second job.
Pointedstick and Tehhowch, the other two developers for the game, also have their own jobs, whereas I'm currently just a college student. Given that I've made development for the Endless Sky a hobby of mine for almost four years now, and a number of people over the years have asked for some way to monetarily support the game, I figured I'd open this SubscribeStar account
Who am I?
I am Amazinite, otherwise known as Derpy Horse on Steam and on the Discord server. I first downloaded Endless Sky from Steam back in December of 2015 when I was going on a spree of finding random free games to play, but didn't actually play it until February of 2016. I instantly fell in love with the game, and after learning that it was open source and simple to create plugins for, I've been developing content for the game ever since. In November of 2018, I was given collaborator access to the game's repository alongside Pointedstick and Tehhowch, meaning that we have full access to the development of the game without requiring Michael's approval for all pull requests to the game, as it had been prior. This was as a result of Michael having less and less time/motivation to work on the game, so Pointedstick, Tehhowch, and myself have been leading the development of the game since then to make sure it doesn't die.
I'm already heavily invested in the development of Endless Sky and don't see myself leaving any time soon, money or not. The game itself is also free, and none of the other developers take any money for the game. So why donate to me?
Put simply, donating money to me means that I can invest even more time into the game. I'm not looking to get rich off of this, but if I can get enough money to pay for car insurance or for college books or for my meals every day, then that's one less thing I have to worry about in life, which gives me more time to work on the game. And the more time I have to work on the game means more content each update for players.
Will the purpose of this page ever change?
This page will always remain Endless Sky focused, but should it somehow grow to an insane level, donations wouldn't only go toward allowing me to spend more time on the game, but would also likely go toward allowing others to spend more time developing the game, or perhaps pay for stuff like art commissions for the game. Basically, if this page grows, then the purpose and scope will grow with it.
